Long Ashton Graffiti: Police arrest suspect

Starting sometime last year the situation in the village has gone from bad to worse, graffiti gradually spreading from road signs, to bus shelters, to individual properties. No part of the village seems to have escaped from this mindless vandalism. I'm pleased to say that someone has now been arrested.

On the first weekend of the year I saw two police officers inspecting the bus stop at the bottom of Providence Lane. I stopped to ask if they were looking into the matter, I was pleased to hear at that stage they had a suspect. It seems now that they have made an arrest. We hope that they have got the culprit and it will bring the vandalism to an end. The Police have asked that we wait a short while before removing the graffiti so that they can take pictures and collect evidence. Once I hear more I will let you know.

I'm keen that as soon as possible we get organised and remove the graffiti. Please use the contact form on this website to let me know of sites you are aware of. Once we have compiled that we will look to get a clean up organised, again please let me know if you would like to get involved.

I'm also starting a regular newsletter about local issues. The aim is to send a summary out once or twice a month, please sign up below.
